TCL Debuts AMOLED NxtPaper Eye-protection Screen

GSMArena published a blog post yesterday (March 6) reporting that TCL showcased its first AMOLED-based NxtPaper eye-protection screen at MWC 2026 in Barcelona.

This new product completely breaks away from the traditional limitations of previous generations of NxtPaper, which relied solely on LCD panels. In addition to displaying vibrant and vivid colors for photos and videos, it brings users a digital reading experience as natural and comfortable as paper.

To significantly reduce screen glare and ambient light reflection that cause visual fatigue, TCL has integrated nano-array lithography technology into the panel and upgraded circularly polarized light (CPL) technology, which has greatly increased the screen polarization rate from 57% in the previous generation to 90%, thereby effectively suppressing the reflection problem.

The screen can also automatically adjust brightness and color temperature based on the user’s biological clock and ambient light. Regarding the core eye protection indicator, the new panel improves harmful blue light filtering by 15%, reducing its total percentage to only 2.9%. To meet the needs of late-night reading, the screen brightness can be lowered to a minimum of 1 nit, and a dedicated reading mode is provided that adapts to the ambient light to adjust the text background color.

In addition to its exceptional eye-care features, the NxtPaper panel also boasts top-tier general-purpose display quality. It achieves 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and perfect color accuracy (deltaE < 1), and supports a peak outdoor brightness of up to 3200 nits.

Thanks to its extremely low reflectivity, users can see the screen clearly in most scenarios without needing to turn on maximum brightness. Combined with a 120Hz high refresh rate, both everyday scrolling and high frame rate scenarios offer a smooth viewing experience.
