Apple iPhone 17e Size Unchanged, Compatible With 16e Phone Cases

Appleinsider published a blog post today reporting that, aside from upgrading specifications and adding MagSafe magnetic charging, the iPhone 17e maintains the same dimensions as its predecessor, the iPhone 16e. This means that older iPhone 16e cases are compatible with the iPhone 17e.

Whenever a new iPhone is released, one of the concerns of ordinary consumers is not the complex technical specifications, but whether their old phone cases can still be used on the new phone.

In terms of design, the iPhone 17e is almost identical to its predecessor. Both models feature a single rear camera layout, and the volume buttons, power button, and control buttons are in the same positions. Furthermore, the notch at the top of the screen remains the same size. Official data shows that the iPhone 17e and iPhone 16e are both 146.7 mm high, 71.5 mm wide, and 7.8 mm thick.

The only physical difference lies in the weight; the iPhone 17e is slightly heavier than its predecessor by two grams. Considering this is only equivalent to the weight of two standard paperclips, the two phones feel virtually identical in hand. This slight weight increase is primarily due to the addition of the MagSafe magnetic charging module inside the iPhone 17e.

Although the old case is fully compatible, Apple has still released a brand new silicone case specifically for the iPhone 17e to complement the newly added MagSafe feature.

The new protective case features a built-in magnetic module and comes in a variety of colors including light pink, bright guava, vanilla, light moss green, navy blue, and black. For users who want the full magnetic experience, upgrading to an original phone case would be a good option.
