Microsoft and Samsung jointly announced that due to a serious system problem with the latest version of the Samsung Galaxy Connect phone management app on Windows 11, the app has been temporarily removed from the Microsoft Store.
According to a report from IT Home, the affected devices mainly include several Samsung laptop models such as NP750XGJ, NP750XGL, NP754XGJ, NP754XFG, NP754XGK, DM500SGA, DM500TDA, DM500TGA, and DM501SGA. After installing and enabling the Galaxy Connect phone management application and attempting to enable the phone’s “screen/file sharing” function, users may experience inaccessibility of their computer’s C drive.
To prevent the problem from spreading further, Microsoft has removed the Galaxy Connect app from the Microsoft Store and stopped distributing it to new users. Samsung, on the other hand, has relisted the older version of the Galaxy Connect app on its website to prevent the problem from affecting more devices.
For devices already affected, Microsoft and Samsung say they are evaluating repair strategies and collaborating on solutions, but as of now, neither company has released any official tools or patches that can be used for system recovery.
