According to official changelogs and related media reports, macOS Tahoe 26.4 Beta 2 fixes an issue where the window shrink pointer does not follow the window corners, and adds support for network MIDI 2.0 sessions for Audio MIDI settings.

In the previous Beta 1 public beta of macOS 26.4 Tahoe, Apple introduced the following three adjustments:

Upgrade battery health management function

In terms of battery management, the new version introduces a “charging limit” feature. This feature, ported from the iOS system, primarily aims to extend battery life.

After upgrading, users can manually lock the maximum charge level of their Mac to any value between 80% and 100% in the system settings, thereby avoiding damage to the physical activity of the battery caused by prolonged full charge.

Safari interface options return

For Safari users, macOS 26.4 has reintroduced the “Compact Tab Bar” option in response to community feedback. This layout was removed in the initial macOS Tahoe release, sparking discussion among users accustomed to a compact layout. With this update, users once again have the option to restore this classic, screen-saving layout in system settings.

Improve system stability

Regarding system stability, the official release mentions that the “cursor misalignment at rounded corners” issue that has existed since the early days of the Tahoe version has been fixed (i.e., the cursor path does not fit the rounded corner shape when the window size is adjusted).
